'the' Destroyer
Who: Dan Bejar
The story: Started Destroyer as a solo home-recording project in the early to mid-nineties. In 1996, he released his debut full length of stripped-down, lo-fi electric folk, We'll Build Them a Golden Bridge. Soon the Destroyer template expanded to include a rhythm section, and Bejar was compelled to head into a proper studio to record City of Daughters in 1998. It was with Daughters that Bejar began to develop his own unique lyrical voice, a voice that continued to evolve and refine itself over the course of his next two records, Thief and Streethawk: A Seduction. Destroyer seemingly had produced its masterwork with Streethawk, a highly refined send-up and condemnation of popular culture, an idea honed to razor-sharp precision. The album became one of the most acclaimed recordings of 2001, and the Destroyer mystique captured music fans and critics alike.
The sound remind me of Roxy music and brian eno smooth nineties era.

watch the world go by
i was watching a hubble documentary film, narrated by leonardo dicaprio. it was amazing images of what else above our atmosphere. just slightly ahead on my mind is a panaromic vision from above the earth on a time lapse while you slowly away from it. its like how beautiful it feels the moment you are apart from your living life. i guess this is the same feeling when i listening this le prix and johan agebjorn mix.

Mitzi -- Yeah disco is definitely not dead!
Not that far away.. from sunny Brisbane - Australia came up Mitzi, the guise of Dominiqe Bird, Jad Lee, Charles Murdoch and Cale Suesskow in what first seemed to be unusual collaboration, has taken form, developing a recognisable sound. There’s an undeniable nostalgia to their tunes, no doubt in part due to the band’s experiments with original equipment and production techniques from days gone by. Anyway according to Mr. Suesskow.. Mitzi is the name of a beautiful Puerto Rican woman, they have met at a bar who they have not seen or heard from since.
So when other fellow Australian does a new haircut for New Wave, Mitzi does a new facelift for Disco..

this wives are actually dudes
Loud Loop Press says of "Blood Red Youth" that the "Phoenix-inspired track opens with some tight hi-hat work as well as a deep, throbbing bassline before shifting to some much more melodic synth action countered by dancey guitars," and the Chicago Reader said the Affair EP has, "simple, clever arrangements thoroughly blend the scrappy feel of indie pop with the propulsive rhythms and glossy flash of disco....some of the easy charm of Phoenix, but the band's not a one-trick pony. In among the frothy cuts are [also] relatively moody songs where they indulge their love of shoegaze and come off sounding like a fizzier My Bloody Valentine."
